THE CHAMPAGNE REGION

One region, one soil, a single passion …

Epernay, the traditional heart of the Champagne region, is famous as the birthplace of the subtle nectar discovered by the monk Dom Perignon, in 1715. Different producers are open to the public and this is a great occasion to enjoy a glass of tasty bubbles.

Reims, highlight of the French kings’ coronations, had a major role in the development of Christianity and Gothic architecture in France.

Along the banks of the river Marne are many World War I memorials, as well as the WWII American battlefield at Belleau Wood.
